What Our Clients Are Saying...

  • These trainers are amazing! We did the 2 week board and train and can't believe the progress our dog made while there! He was a repeat visitor to the city pound before we rescued him. Very loving, but too clever for his own good and needed some help finding his motivations and direction. We waffled about the price quite a bit before signing him up but decided if you'd pay this $$ for a physical ailment to heel/help your dog then you should be willing to pay it for their mental health and wellness as well. It was definitely worth it! He's a completely different dog and we (dog and humans) are all so much happier for it! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to help their dog be a happier, more manageable part of their family.

  • Training at KC Dawgz is amazing. We brought our German Shepherd puppy to puppy class there - that class was led by Mike, and it was amazing. Our puppy learned so much and got to experience so many new and different activities. It's a great puppy class - really well structured to build on basic obedience. We liked it so much we signed up for private lessons after the class ended with both our puppy and our adult dog with reactivity issues. We are doing private lessons with Maureen and we love her. She is so great with both of our dogs and they have both improved by leaps and bounds since we started training with her. We get so many compliments on our dogs behavior! We had tried 4 or 5 different trainers and methods with our reactive dog and nothing helped - after just 3 lessons she is already unbelievably better. We can't praise Maureen enough - we adore her! Anyone looking for dog training should come here. They take a balanced approach and always have the dogs best interests in mind.

  • Mike and his staff are incredibly professional and knowledgeable. I have a 1 year old black lab mix who is very energetic and needed training/structure. Mike developed a customized training plan and my dog's behavior has changed dramatically for the better in a short period of time. I'd highly recommend KC Dawgz to anyone who is looking for high quality professional obedience training for their dog.

  • KC Dawgz was the best investment we could have made for our rescue pup, Walter! Rescuing a dog comes with the unknown of what they endured prior to a life with you (their new owners). Walter did well to some commands but had trouble with his reactivity to other animals, people, basically anything that moved in front of him. We also had issues with counter surfing and mouthing. Although Walter is still a pup, it was a night and day difference after doing the 2 week board and train program. Walter is a high energy pup that needed a lot of patience and corrections for him to understand. An E collar had to be used and still does to correct his unwanted behaviors. As long as it is being used correctly, no harm should come to your dog while using the E collar. It had and continues to work tremendously for Walter. Those who abuse that method of correction and training are causing disconnect and harm to their dog. KC Dawgz is a great training company and I highly, highly recommend them to all those I talk to about training their dogs! I can’t say it enough on how great they are with the dogs and their owners. We continue to see great progress from Walter and all the thanks goes to Mike and Mo and the rest of the KC Dawgz team! Thank you KC Dawgz!

  • This place was the best! We have a golden doodle and he did better than we ever could have hoped for! A word of advice when looking at these reviews. Look at the two negative ones. Both are not customers. And one knows tons about dog training and is virtually an expert...but his girlfriend took her dog to someone else. Just strikes me as a made up review. But I digress. Maybe I can’t believe it because my experience was the exact opposite of what was described by the haters. Mike was awesome. Spent about 2 1/2 hours with me regarding my dog. Was overly transparent and open about his methods. And he actually stated electric collar would not be good for our dog. He also gave every insider detail on training. To the point that you could train your next dog based on how much information he shared. Not that I would. He was that good and professional that I will continue to use him. And I was totally against getting a trainer for my dog. Consider me a skeptic converted. He was awesome, professional, committed and passionate about dogs and training them. I could continue but I think you get the picture. Read any of the other reviews if you don’t. Thanks Mike!!!!! We have a totally different dog. He is so eager to please us and try to get our approval. It sounds silly but he is even more loving and more interested in us!

  • Enzo and I really enjoyed KC Dawgz Puppy 101 class. Great atmosphere to learn and socialize puppies. There is a good mix of theory, practice, and puppy socialization. The staff do a good job of teaching the group and finding time to work individually. Mike is a wealth of knowledge and experience. On multiple occasions he stayed after class with us and others, providing additional tips and insight into various aspects of training. I am very happy with the Puppy 101 class, it has provided a solid base for Enzo and his owners to continue training.

6 BENEFITS OF KC DAWGZ DOG TRAINING

1. STATE OF THE ART FACILITY

We are located in a 23,000 square feet custom built facility located in Overland Park, Kansas. Your dog resides safely in a brand new, professionally constructed and installed kennel system which we have sourced from the industry leader. We include indoor and outdoor play yard access during your pup’s stay. Our facility is fully irrigated which makes it easy to sanitize.

2. HIGHLY EXPERIENCED STAFF

Combined, our trainers have over a quarter of a million of dollars of dog training certifications from professional dog training schools throughout the world. Our team only utilizes researched-based approaches towards dog training. Trainers at our academy are full-time, career-oriented professional dog trainers. This is not a part-time job or side gig. We commit 100% of our time to professional dog training.

3. Contemporary Training “The System”

Our dog training process is proprietary and unlike anything you will find online, in a book or in a standard class. We have developed this proprietary system through years of training dogs, hands-on experience, and coaching dog owners. Our dog training clients frequently comment that the dog training instruction they personally receive is unique and unlike anything they have learned previously.

4. Consistent and Informative Training Updates

We send you phased email updates and progress reports with details on dog training progress. Each week, the field trips become more challenging and exciting and we share this experience with you. The “turn call,” mid-way during the stay, will allow you time to discuss the dog training program in person with one of our professional dog trainers. Dog training exercises, field trips, physical conditioning, and activities are happening every day, 7 days a week, from the beginning of the program until graduation from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

5. MULTIPLE PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS

It is very important to select a dog training facility that has multiple trainers on staff. By experiencing multiple dog trainers, dogs actually learn the commands and are not simply reacting to one person’s mannerisms. Each dog will be taught to listen to a variety of different people during their training.

6. Several Dog Training Options

We can do the heavy lifting in our Board and Train program. We can conduct dog training with you in our private dog training sessions or we can coach you in our group membership dog training program. We offer great dog training options that are optimal for every phase of training. Also available to our KC Dawgz pack is our group dog training membership, where you can sharpen up your basics or advance your dog with special interest groups.
