At KC Dawgz, we educate owners to think differently about their dog and to understand the relationship dynamic involved in dog training. We support the belief that dog training isn’t just an activity, it’s a way of life. We seek to remove stress and frustration that sometimes accompany dog ownership by actively taking charge of the training so that your dog will learn how to live harmoniously with you and your family. KC Dawgz is a balanced training facility. We will teach you positive reinforcement and how best to reward and encourage good behaviors. We also teach how to interrupt and curb unwanted behaviors.

Best of all, our methods work without scaring your dog or resorting to harsh punishment! We focus the training not only on your dog, but you as well. We want you to understand what methods work, which ones don’t (and why), and help you build a relationship with your dog based on mutual understanding and communication.

Positive reinforcement is a constant when working with your dog. We believe that the best way to teach your dog to be a good citizen is to show them how to “win the game” of training with positive reinforcement through food, toys, or physical affection. Positively reinforcing the behaviors and skills you want to see from your dog makes training more fun for them and more likely that the behaviors will stick. Teach people how to simply and effectively stop unwanted behaviors using our innovative 4-step system. Our methods are (1) fear-free, (2) scientifically-proven to work, (3) easy to learn and use, and (4) effective. Our techniques make sense and are easily repeatable by the ordinary owner.

Right away! The sooner you learn our system the faster you will be able to communicate with your dog to get the behaviors you want. Training a younger puppy is easier; habits (good and bad) can be formed in as little as 2-3 weeks. As soon as you walk in the door with a new dog or puppy, whether you know it or not, training has already begun.

So, the sooner you start teaching your dog – the better! Once you learn our system and create the right environment for success, training will be a breeze! Puppy group classes can also help with socialization and follow through.

Puppies must be 4 months of age before they can enroll in our ‘board and train’ comprehensive program. Dogs can enroll in private training at any age.

Puppies may enroll in Puppy 101 group training classes after 8 weeks of age and under 6 months of age.

During your dogs’ stay with us feel free to come and visit them. Visiting appointments are 15 minutes and must be booked 24 hours before they are conducted via your online portal.
