Companionship Agility Class

Agility training helps you bond with your dog and develop a sense of trust and communication skills as you both learn basic dog handling techniques and how to overcome obstacles together. The class is designed for dogs who have had dog obedience training with basic commands such as “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “come” but no formal agility experience. By the end of the course, you and your dog will have learned the basics of dog agility such as body-language cues, verbal cues, attention work, distraction training, and beginning obstacle work.

Carefully designed with fun and safety in mind, Companionship Agility Class prepares you for fun from day one!

Nose Work Foundation Class

In today’s complex world our canine companions often find themselves bored and misunderstood because they are utilizing the natural abilities they were bred for. This course provides a great mental and physical outlet and supports handler and canine relationships. Our goal is for handers to learn how to read their dogs and to pick up on the subtle signals that their dogs communicate with when they are on the trail of an odor source.

Reaction Jackson Class

A reactive dog acts without thinking first. Even the most well-behaved dogs need reinforcement when it comes to how to act around other dogs, children, and strangers. This class is designed to help your dog make better choices about how to react in any situation. Before joining this class, you’ll meet for an initial private lesson with the Master Trainer at KC Dawgz to assess your dog’s specific needs.

This course will:

Empower your dog to choose calm behavior over undesired reactivity. For example, instead of barking and lunging, your dog can proactively choose to engage in a calm behavior, allowing her—and you—the opportunity to adjust to a “trigger” that once caused fear, frustration, or aggression.

Build confidence and reduce excitement in your dog. Once your dog feels greater control over his behaviors, he’ll be less likely to be anxious, fearful, or over-the-top excited, which will result in less reactivity. Calm and confident behaviors will follow from that foundation.

Build communication and trust between you and your dog. When your communication channel is clear and reliable, trust is built. In this course, you’ll learn how to understand your dog’s body language—most especially before, during, and after your dog calmly experiences a “trigger.” You and your dog will be empowered to remain active in calm, stress-free behavior rather than become reactive in the undesirable behavior.

Reduce stress by reducing distress during experiences that once triggered problematic behavior.
